In-Home Caregivers Add Security and Companionship for Older Adults

Last summer, Jan Reilly's mother, Tanya, was in a convalescent home recovering from a spinal fracture due to osteoporosis. Jan was ready to take her mother home, but she faced a dilemma shared by many baby-boomers concerned about their aging parents.

“I couldn’t stay home to take care of Mom,” she said in a recent telephone conversation. “And Mom couldn’t stay home alone.” Further complicating the home situation, Tanya’s husband, Robert, suffers with Alzheimer’s disease.

At the convalescent home, Jan learned about Triple G, an independently owned and operated home companion agency. “I read the Triple G brochure. I was particularly impressed with the quality care and companionship a Triple G caregiver would spend with my mom.”
