Aren’t most grandmothers over 60 moving towards a nice relaxing time in their lives? You know, spending time with their grandchildren, doing lunch…winding down? Well this is one senior citizen who’s just getting cranked up.
I did have a nice, quiet life. I was waiting around for grandchildren (of which I now have two by the way). Then, Christmas of 2004, that all changed. I was opening the Christmas present from my oldest son with motherly gratitude for the gift I knew I would never use. It was a great, trendy purse that I knew he had spent a lot of money on, but it had no pockets. I had to have my pockets.
Fumbling through my purse for my keys, cell phone, etc., was one of my pet peeves, but I really did love the purse. I couldn’t get it out of my mind. If only there was a way that I could stay organized and still use this purse. I checked out the Internet and the stores but found no solution that satisfied me. The "pouchee®" idea was born.
Looking back, I am amazed at the tide of events that have swept me into a sea of commerce and industry. I remember discussing my “idea” for a purse organizer with a friend, who forwarded me to her daughter who introduced me to a purse designer who gave me the name of her manufacturer and the next thing I knew I had 2000 pouchees® coming in from China. And that was the easy part. Once they were here, what was I to do with them? I can tell you right now that I did not get the sales gene in my family. Just the thought of going to a store and trying to sell pouchees® scared me
